About The Role Reporting to the Head of Sales, this position will lead a dedicated sales team focused on managing a portfolio of government customers with an annual spend of under $500,000. In addition to overseeing this customer segment, the role will take ownership of sales activity and customer engagement for our North Queensland and Cairns branches. You will be supported by a capable team of account managers and internal specialists, and work under the guidance of an experienced Head of Sales. The focus of this role is to drive customer satisfaction, growth, and retention through strategic account management and strong regional representation. Key Responsibilities - Share in the development and implement and monitor the segment sales strategy
- Lead a team of Sales professionals, providing them with ongoing development and mentoring.
- Create and execute strategic plans for new business growth in the segment testing initiatives and innovation to deliver a winning offer
- Identify, manage and develop multi-level client relationships and grow existing accounts to establish COS as a preferred supplier
- Provide leadership through effective communication, active coaching and development, leading to an improvement of sales results
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity and pipeline in HubSpot (or relevant CRM), ensuring data quality and transparency.
- Report regularly on portfolio health, opportunities, and risks to Sales Leadership.
- Support the business in tender submissions, pricing reviews, and contract compliance for relevant government accounts.
- Ensure all activity aligns with procurement and policy requirements for the public sector.
- Represent COS in the region, ensuring strong customer relationships and community presence.
- Act as the key sales leader for the North Queensland and Cairns branches, supporting local teams and customers.

- Drive account retention and overall segment growth.
- Monitor sales activity and CRM discipline.
- Regional contribution – support the brand presence for Cairns and Townsville branches through local engagement and initiatives.
- A strong understanding of margin, pricing strategy, and business drivers
- Confident in coaching and developing individuals to achieve performance targets and grow professionally.
- Manages time, territory, and competing priorities effectively in a geographically diverse region.
- Communicates clearly and confidently with internal and external stakeholders
- Takes initiative and drives continuous improvement.
