About The Role

 

Reporting to the DC Manager, the Inventory Controller plays a critical leadership role in safeguarding the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of all inventory across COS. This position is responsible for ensuring inventory levels are optimised to support operational performance while minimising cost, mitigating risk, and upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance within the Distribution Centre.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively oversee all inventory movements, ensuring high stock accuracy and compliance with operational and safety standards.

  • Lead and enhance end-to-end inventory control processes, systems, and methodologies to support operational excellence.

  • Develop and monitor inventory planning benchmarks, KPIs, and performance indicators aligned with organisational priorities.

  • Investigate discrepancies through structured root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.

  • Analyse complex inventory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, providing timely reporting and insights.

  • Drive continuous improvement across inventory systems, workflows, and procedures to boost efficiency and minimise disruption.

  • Lead comprehensive cycle counts and stocktakes, ensuring data integrity, accurate reconciliations, and minimal write-offs.

  • Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring WHS compliance, identifying hazards, and supporting safety investigations and improvements.

About You

  • Proven experience in managing inventory operations with accuracy and efficiency under high-pressure, high-volume conditions, such as back-to-school season—while effectively handling elevated stress
  • Deep knowledge of inventory control or supply chain processes
  • Strong data analysis and report development skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and other office-based technologies.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement and deliver measurable results.
  • A natural inclination for problem-solving, process improvement, and driving change.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
